What happens if VI looks at your baud rate and says, "You poor soul, you're only running at 300 (1200) baud. Rather than make you sit and watch as I redraw the screen everytime you do anything, I'll make like easier for you and only use 2/3ds (half) of it." If that is your problem, the fix (if you want it) is to add a line to your .exrc (or EXRC variable in the Cshell). set wi<[ndow]=24 And there you go.
