I haven't seen this addressed yet so here goes... Does anyone in net land want to second guess apple and prophesize when apple might get smart enough to start selling the IIE and IIC with a 16 bit CPU ?????? It seems to me that if they don't, the II family will not be able to compete with upstarts like Atari's new and much hyped 68000 line.... Any comments???? -jim lahren

From a consumer marketing point of view there is no point upgrading the Apple ][ to compete effectively with the Macintosh which is a far more profitable product.
