[net.micro.apple] IIe + AE problems

anthony@utcsstat.UUCP (Anthony Ayiomamitis) (02/22/85)

I am looking for some help on a problem a friend is ex-
periencing. She has a IIe with an extended 80-column card and is
encountering difficulties in running Ascii Express in half-duplex
mode. Once she establishes communication with the host computer
and interacts for about 30 seconds, her monitor "freezes" and the
        communications software hangs.
Any possible solutions would be much appreciated. Many
        thanks in advance.

a reply to the author was sent but this is for those of you who have
similar problems:

The december issue of Byte magaizine pointed out that interaction between
the static rams of standard 80 column cards and dynamic rams on the motherboard
will cause problems. (see Byte , Dec 1984, page A120).
