[net.micro.apple] 1200 baud terminal packages?

Does anyone know what was resolved from the discussion a few months ago about
the apple losing characters at 1200 baud?? Unfortunately I didn't pay much
attention then, but now that I have 1200 baud, I would like to know what the
results were.  Does Ascii Express lose characters?  Is it a matter of just
re-writing the screen drivers, or is it more complicated? Would 40 col. lose
as many characters?  Thanks,
