To the Macintosh XLISP users: Version 1.5 of XLISP will be available shortly for the 512K Macintosh and the Macintosh-XL (Lisa under MacWorks). It includes support for lexical scoping of variables, floating point arithmetic, case conversion of symbol names, quickdraw graphics (limited), a better Macintosh interface with pull-down menus for loading files, interrupting program execution, continuing from errors, etc. It also has reworked object-oriented programming support (uses keywords for message selectors and slightly different syntax for creating new classes). It also has a number of bugs from version 1.4 fixed. This version is marked with a copyright notice and is restricted to non-commercial use (I intended to place the same restriction on version 1.4 but forgot to put the copyright notices on the source files -- there is one in the oblist). If there is enough interest, I will upload the hex version of the application file and the documentation to usenet for distribution. All source distribution will be by Macintosh disk. If you really need the source code, send me a Macintosh disk and a stamped self-addressed disk mailer (not money for postage).
