I am currently considering upgrading to the wonderful world of 1200 baud from my 300 baud Micromodem II. As I see it, there are two possible ways to go about this: (1) Modem card (Prometheus Promodem 1200a), or (2) separate serial card plus external modem. So, what's best? Beats me. Anyone have some ideas they would like to share on this subect? Which way is best? Which hardware have you had success with? For the record, my system consists of an ][+, PCPI Starcard Z80 card, Videx Videoterm (will it handle 1200 baud, cursor positioning, etc?), ramcard and Epson parallel interface. Please mail your replies. If anyone is interested in the results, I will post a summary in a couple of weeks. It is on the expensive side, $400+, but it has many good features such as tone dialing, a hand-set, rs232 interface, and a power regulator. (In case you're into turning on your blender with your computer.) I also use Ascii Express 4.2 with it. -- --Kevin Chu ..ucbvax!ucdavis!vega!ccs020 /ex
