I posted the preceding article before reading all of the recent controversy. However, I still believe that it is correct, and it does describe accurately how ascii express works. (And by the way, I mind someone saying that I don't know what I'm talking about, in case you didn't guess before posting. I do know what I'm talking about. I was not referring to the history of the protocols, I was referring to their current state. Ward Christensen, in the current usage as far as I have seen, is a special case of xmodem protocol where block 0 is a header block which indicates the filetype.)
