hello networld! I just got finished taking down five apple //c's for a big conference we're having here at Reed college, and I typed pr#7 just for kicks. I got the message 'appletalk not connected'. I assume they have the latest ROM mods (They came from Apple direct), so I guess included with the package for the 3.5 inch drive also gives appletalk capability. Has anyone heard official word from Apple about this? One of my roomates has a //c and she's interested in the 3.5 inch drives. Is it also true that there's no way to use a Sider with a //c? Also, I am looking for a Kermit for an Apple //e, 80co board, ssc, and ASCII Express Pro. I've got all these silly little text files on the Vax, and I want to download them and edit them with applewriter(Dos 3.3 version, of course). Anyone have one? By the way, as mentioned earlier, prefix <path> is the ProDos command to set paths. A really good source of information on Dos 3.3 (The good dos) and ProDos (The fast dos) is _Beneath_Apple_(Pro)Dos_ by Don Worth and Peiter Lechner. These guys are the best. If you decide to buy the ProDos Reference Manual, beware! It has false info. It seems that in early versions of ProDos, there were routines to split applsoft programs around the High-Res screens. As PorDos grew, these routines had to be removed due to lack of space. It seems, however, that the manual had plenty of space, and no one took the discriptions of these features out of it. . .Oh, well. This may have been changed with newer versions of the Tech Ref. I don't know. kamath UUCP: {ihnp4,decvax}!tektronix!reed!kamath ARPA: I wish BITNET: Soon, I hope.
