To get double hi (or double low) resolution graphics on your //e, you *must* have a revision B or higher motherboard. Last time I looked, the highest revision *was* B. Authorized Apple dealers are required to upgrade any revision A motherboard for free. They are allowed to charge only for their time. One dealer in New York City tried to charge me $50 for their time. Then, they kept my computer for a month. I called Apple and whined, and the next day I was told I could have my computer back, and they weren't charging me the $50 either. The difference between revision A and B has something to do with B being able to use the same kind of 80 column thing in graphics mode as text mode. The revision is visible in the model number (?), at the back of the motherboard... past the expansion slots. It says something like "820-0064-B" for revision B, or "820-0064-A" for revision A, right below where it says "Apple Computer, INC, (C) 1983." -- ########################################################################## #D.
