The fastest and easiest way to character postion with
the 80 column card is to poke the position you want into
the write memory locations. If you use the COUT hooks
you have to make sure that the right code is interpreting
them and it's just a hassle. The memory locations you
want are described in most apple crib sheets, however
you don't want to use the X location they recommend.
The 80-column manual has an addendum that mentions that
there is a bug using that location and you should actually
poke it to 1403 (decimal).
