I'd like to build an Apple ][ card cage, which will allow me to use more than 7 (tho not at one time, of course) cards in the system. This would also be a way to add cards to the Laser 128, which has only one Aplle-compatible slot. Presumably the box would work by turning off internal I/O address decoding and putting the signals on the expansion bus. A separate power supply would almost be a necessity. Mountain Computer once made a box that did this, but it's capabilities were somewhat limited. (A representative told me they were planning to add features, but then IBM came onto the scene, and Mountain doesn't do much Apple ][-related work any more. I'm not sure this is even possible with the LSI chips in the //e, does anyone know if this could work? Does anyone out there have schematics for the Mountain box or a possible design for a similar one? -- - Ralph W.
