H Everyone, Recently I was looking at getting 'Appleworks' for my //e and while I was at the store the salesman couldn't get a anything to print out over 80 ols wide. I wanted him to duplicate my system which has the Okidata 92 printer. Since Apple Doesn't consider the OKI in the Printer Sect. we had to type in the special codes. Now we know they were entered correctly as the Word Proc part of 'Appleworks' was ok!! From what I could gather they it looks like they (Database/Word Proc) use the same special printer codes.I've seen the problem duplicated on a CITOH 8510 Printer also. Geez.... you'd think Apple would have alittle more forethought as regards to the printers you can use. How many people got Qumes!! Since I wanna KEEP my OKI, does anyone have any ideas. Appleworks is a nice program but, with this shortcoming I cant see them selling it to alot of people and making friends!! Thanx !!!! Joe Craparotta [NY1MM::CRAPAROTTA

Craig, I've had the same problems that you've had with AppleWorks. Seems like APPLE wasn't smart enough or thought that us USERS didn't need it. SOLUTION-- Use APPLEWRITER....maybe they want us to buy both programs.. Good marketing 'eh......?? Some day Apple will realize that Apple // users make up most of the sales and can't force to the "MAC"... Joe Craparotta The above statements are mine alone and not DEC's.........
