I think I posted this request once before, but I didn't get any response, so I'll try again. I'm looking for an emulation package for an Apple 2c so that I can use it on a Unix machine. There are several terminals that I could use for the emulation. Among the more popular are: Teletype 5410 Teletype 4410 HP 2621 HP 2645 VT 52 VT 100 If you have any information as to where I might find one of these emulations, please reply. Take note that I am not a technical computer person, merely a technical writer trying to use her PC to work at home. Thanks very much Sandy Swier ATTIS Middletown mtgzy!sts

In fact, it is definitely the most advanced telecom program made for the apple. It has a hardware mod that "enhances the keyboard" (i.e. protects them from pirates...it's unprotected--yeah!) which adds 3 new <cntr> type keys (hold one down while typing something else). There is the new version made for 128K //'s (including the //c, natch) that has the same hardware mod that connects to the paddle port, I believe. The vt100 does not have AVO, nor the 132 col, even if you have an ultraterm on a //e. Such it life . . . but I can't say I blame them. Now for MY request. . . . I want a communications prog that uses double- high res for the lettering, supports color, AVO on vt100's, and can draw things such as Techtronix or GIGI terminals. That'll mean you can play VTTrek!!! ...now if I can only get the specs for the keyboard enhancer, I'll be in the front row.... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stefan Chakerian CIS: 74365,231 {ucbvax|pur-ee|csu-cs|convex|nmtvax|lanl} unmvax!unmc!cs2532bn This is my girlfriend: ~. The 128K version for the IIe & IIc has 3 "switches" that plug into the gameport. S1 & S2 are simply Open Apple & Closed Apple; which are the same as the paddle #1's two fire buttons. S3 is 50 ohms across the paddle X-axis. I don't even use my switches, its easier to use OA & CA. As for S3, I do VT-100 emulation & it is only needed for the function keys. Since I use the "e" editor, I find it easier to use the control key equivalents than pressing 3 buttons for a function key. -- -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- Paul Blumstein | "One doesn't have a sense of humor. There was a pointer to an H19/VT52 terminal emulator posted to info-micro a month or so ago. I forget the name of it but it was written by Ken Adelman & ? at UCLA. I use it on my //e with super serial card at 1200 baud. It works great (especially handy is the insert character capabilities of the H19). It has no file capabilities but it can send output to the printer. I believe it runs on a //c, //e with super serial, II+ with Videx & serial card. I don't have a copy of Ken's message. Perhaps someone who stored it could forward it to net.micro.apple or send mail to Ken asking him if his program could be posted to net.micro.apple. -- David Neves Computer Sciences Department University of Wisconsin-Madison Usenet: {allegra,heurikon,ihnp4,seismo,uwm-evax}!uwvax!neves Arpanet: neves@uwvax
