first question) Where is the Applesoft Parsing routine.

$D56C

Well, you gotta look into this. It's real complicated. If you're going
to do what I think you're going to do, you better go buy at least one of
these. Merlin, Merlin Pro, Orca/M: They will give you a documented
version of Basic in your machine. Absolutely neccessarry (1:30am, screw
spelling) for getting into the nitty gritty. The Apple Atlas/Gazetteer
(ibid). Great for looking up routines by what they do/where they are.
Also, see if you can find some books on machine language that say
something like (hidden applesoft entry points) etc.I have a myriad of
these books. For more info, e-mail me and if enough people are dying to
know how to screws up the scrn command in 80 col, I'll post books of
interest. Perhaps then we can generate a net.list of paoples favourite
misc.books.

tip of the morning (yeah, pun intended). From the Beagle Brother's
Great Big Tip Book #1 (or whatever). Since DOS (NOT PRODOS) will take
anything echoed through COUT, and if there just happens to be a $4 being
printed in the very first column, you can do something like this:

10 rem filerfillerfiller..............(until it begins to wrap)
^DDOS COMMAND

this is handy if you want to reboot on an attempted list...

2) How to get subscripts on a C.Itoh Prowriter. I have one. Good luck.
Actually, I called C.Itoh and they sent me a RadioShack Basic program on
how to download custom fonts to my Prowriter. It's almost imperitive to
obtain a TMM2016P-2 2K RAM Chip to stick in a socket. Otherwise you can
get about 4 characters downloaded and wait forever to print. If you
have AppleWorks version 1.3, you can scroung things up to work with the
Grappler, you can get a free(?) update from a dealer. (Pretty sure it's
free...) Then see if you can get it to print telling it it's an
Imagewriter (Made by C.Itoh. VERY SIMILAR!!!) AppleWorks keeps track
of where the printhead is at all times when printing on an imagewriter,
so in case it gets a command to do subscripts it can do a half line feed,
go to where the print head was (It gets sent back on the half line
feed), prints the subscript, the does a half reverse line feed, and finds
it's way back to the right place to continue. Failing that, download a
subscript characterset to the Prowriter, give up Bold or Undelining to
turn on the custom set....big pain. You can buy a font downloader to do
this (I've seen add, I always see adds...) then use AppleWriter (THE
wordprocessor to use {Yeah, I'm hooked}). well, good luck, I'm going to
bed...
