Well, I posted too soon...sigh. Well, I looked in my trusty back issues of Open-Apple and lo and behold, the problem manifests itself. I boot up the //c system utilities, select "configure the serial ports" and set everything the same except "do not send CR" for line width. The program now works quite nicely, though a tad slow. Anyone interested in it? If so, I'll post it. Otherwise, I'll put some bells and whistles on it, then post it. It's a nice little routine, though it uses almost $150 bytes of lookup tables. SIGH. I guess I really should calculate base addresses. Send me e-mail if your interested.
