[net.micro.apple] Language cards / Power supplies / Telecommunications

I don't know who it was that was asking about Apple Language Cards, but
You can get a 16k ram card (language card) from Jameco Electronics for
around $30-$40....Thats gonna be about the lowest....But for a few bucks
more you might be able to get a 32 or 64k ram card....you should check
into it....but Jameco Electronics is your best bet.

Like Jameco also carries power supplies for the Apple II series, and sell
them for $39....I bought a RECONDITIONED one from an Apple Dealer about 4
months ago for $80... Plus the one from Jameco is vented, and supposedly
can handle a greater power load.

Power supplies go out a lot on Apple II+'s...I am going through my third
one in about a month...(The second one is slipping)...

Another guy who used to run a BBS went through 2 also...

BBS's put a strain on power supplies like you wouldn't believe....Currently
I am running 6 drives (maybe 7 after this weekend), and a 212 apple cat
(of which I recommend highly to anyone who wants to get into telecommunica-
tions), a grappler buffer card, and a clock card....(no ram cards because
they heat up too much and give off too much heat) I also have a system saver
type cooling fan...If you want, give my board a call....303-423-3156.
                                                    (300/1200 baud 24 hours)
