Sorry for this diversion away from the current //gs talk, but I have a request... actually, a couple... I would appreciate any information any apple-wizards on the net might have about turning my apple][ (thats apple][ {blank, plain, regular} ) into a serious terminal. I have a hayes compatible external modem, a primitive, but workable serial card, and a videx-compatible 80-column card... I could write the necessary software, if necessary (6502 assembler, gack!) but not desirable, but the big stumbling block is the old ]['s keyboard... no lower case, no special characters, etc... my question is, is there a keyboard that i can just plug in (hopefully detachable) that will address my needs? how easy would it be to hardware hack one of the ibm compatible keyboards out now to work? please e-mail any comments you might have to me, as it seems the ol' apple][ has gone pretty quiet on the net... Also, i may be coming into some money soon and would like to hear people's opinions on going to the //gs as opposed to the ST or Amiga route... My main use for such a system would mostly be for play (of course) but also would include some (maybe lots of) program development in C.... thanks a bunch for your thoughts, opinions, flames, etc... paul ---------- Paul Winkler @ University of California, San Diego Chapter usenet: ..!ucbvax!sdcsvax!sdcc7!ln63fzm arpa: ln63fzm%sdcc7@sdcsvax.ucsd.edu (sometimes)
