Last night I brought my wife in to work; while I was running some tests she got to put some stuff online that she has wanted me to crunch into a more portable form for a while. Penny is not primarily a computer person, but she has no real fear of them. She has a fondness for rogue and certain other computer-mediated games. Well, last night she read the discussions in net.philosophy, net.religion, and some other net.dots. She than turned to me and asked why I never talk to her like that any more. When we were in college together, she and I would stay up far too late at night in order to discuss things, and we seem to have fallen out of the habit. I think that when (if) we get a terminal at home, I will have to set her up with a login of her own so we can talk about other things than bills and cleaning and all the tedious drudgey things that get underfoot when we try to talk at home.
