I reposted it as a seperate article for the benefit of those who are avoiding the abortion issue in order attempt to start some new discussions. *************************************************************** I, for one, am getting quite upset at seeing the abortion issue being continually argued in a news group that was formed expressedly for discussing issues important to women in today's society. Granted, this issue does involve women but most of the discussion on this issue has been done by men. Do the contributors to this discussion actually believe that an issue which is so private to the individual(s) involved in a discision of this nature is one of the more important issues envolving women in society today? Do you belive that you are solving a world crisis by accusing another human being of murder? Do you actually believe that the decision to abort or not is taken lightly? If so, do you believe that your opinions will actually make a difference? I for one would like to see the end of this discussion, at least in this news group. As a start I would like to pose these question to the women who have been able to survive the abortion issue: What sort of situations, overt actions, etc. do YOU feel are discriminatory when they happen to YOU? How does it make you feel? How do you react? How would you like to see things change to eliminate this situation? Do you stand up for your rights by stating your disapproval of these actions? If not, why not? Allow me to oversimmplify! Men like womem. Many men either don't care or are not aware when they are insulting and/or embarrasing a woman. If women refused to tolerate these sort of situations, the men who perpretrate these actions would soon become very lonely. They might eventually even figure out that THEY are NOT cool when they do these sort of things. I feel that these are the sort of issues that this news group was formed for.
