Considering how much we've been talking about sexism, the women's movement and equality of the sexes, I wonder if others out there in netland have noticed a certain double standard that seems to exist with regard to this: It's been my experience that the selfsame people who will rant and rave and foam at the mouth at the smallest mention of words like "chairman", "spokesman" etc., will also expect me to hold doors open for them - only once have I come across a woman who would return the favour and hold the door open for me. They will expect me to help them with heavy packages, but rarely return the favour. It seems to me that *some* (please note this qualification) people want to take advantage of women's lib to have their cake and eat it too! saumya k debray suny at stony brook ...allegra!sbcs!debray
