c As an exercise, I suggest that in every article concerning the Supreme Court decision on insurance, the word "blacks" be substituted for the word "women" and the word "whites" be substituted for the word "men". I'm sure statistical studies could be (or have been) done to prove which races live longer. However, I don't think insurance companies would be allowed to, for instance, charge blacks more than whites for an equivalent insurance policy. This may give many people a different perspective on statistical discrimination. Remember that many social injustices have been perpetuated because of "scientific proof" of the differences between races, religions, sexes, etc. --Sarah Groves philabs!rdin!sarah
