Shouldn't we, rather than flaming on about some particular usage, be suggesting reasonable new usages? (After all, if you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem.) My own two cents would be to propose "workmonths" to replace "man-months". I, quite humbly, thing that term more descriptive of whats going on than the original! After all, people do differ in their capabilities, and in their propensity to actually work, as opposed to standing by the water cooler discussing the latest baseball game, flirting with the boss's secretary (nonsexist usage, Female programmer flirting with male secretary included!) etc. Am sure some peoples ratio of "worktime" to hours-on-time-sheet could cause problems for your floating point divide instruction... "If you are not part of the solution then you are part of the problem." NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! Serious Horrible Terrible Immoral Inconsiderate Disgraceful Attack on Both Freedom and Safety!! Anyone who doesnt have an opinion on the subject gets to abstain. Period. What are we going to do if everyone is required to have an opnionion on everything? We don't *live* long enough to have an opinion on everything, and the general knowledge base is expanding. How many of you really have an opinion on the Murder/Execution of Mari'a Catan~a of Cuenca? How many even know what I am talking about? If you don't know, the best idea is to abstain from the whole issue until you have facts. And you may choose to be interested in other things. You may never get the facts, either due to lack of interest, or because the facts never come to light. Statements like the above fill me with terror. You are giving licence to ignorance as a basis for decisions. Laura Creighton utzoo!utcsstat!laura
