"If you are not part of the solution then you are part of the problem." "Anyone who doesn't have an opinion on the subject gets to abstain." (two different people) I agree with both of the above. In fact I would amplify the second to: Anyone who doesn't have an opinion is morally obligated to abstain. There are too many decision makers who don't when they should. However, that doesn't absolve anyone of the responsibility to get some facts and then an opinion on matters of importance (I missed the original but I presume it was) because there are too many people who would rather stick their heads in the sand.
