The solution of taking Magnesium partially worked for my sister, but the tablets were too big for her to swallow. She has tried a number of prescription drugs, which work O.K. (Motrin (sp?) comes to mind immediately. There are lots of new drugs as the medical establishment finally recognizes this problem.) Recently, she's been trying acupuncture which is really working well. Be sure to get a good acupuncturist, as there are many quacks in this field. Try to find someone who has had real training, preferably in the Orient. An MD is a plus, for s/he can recognize other problems, or prescribe medicine if acupuncture isn't approriate. A female doctor could probably better understand how you feel and what kinds of treatment would help. To all you sufferers of monthly pain, modern medicine (and ancient medicine) offers many solutions. Most of you can probably find relief in one form or another. If your physician can't find a solution, try other methods. If your physician doesn't recognize the problem, get another physician! I, too, would have submitted this to net.women.only, but I'm male. I just hope that a sufferer of menstrual cramps doesn't drop net.women for net.women.only. Alan J. Hu sdcsvax!ajh
