[net.women] combining parenthood & career

benson@cwruecmp.UUCP (Julia E. Benson) (09/10/83)

I'm expecting my first child in early March. I would be very interested
in hearing about other people's experiences in combining pregnancy/
motherhood (and fatherhood) with a career in computer science and
related fields. I'm the first pregnant female grad student in comp. sci.
at Case Western Reserve since I've been here, and few other grad students
here have small children, so I'm feeling a bit isolated. Any hints,
experiences, stories, etc. will be very much appreciated. Replies by

Earlier this summer, I posted an inquiry about whether there would
be any interest in net.kids. I got a few enthusiastic responses, but
not enough (in my opinion) to make it worthwhile.

It now appears to me that there are more than just a few people interested
in issues pertaining to parenting. There have been a number of submissions
to this group lately, and to others as well.

I'll ask again: Is anyone else interested in net.kids?
