I think we should have a contest for the most lunatic statement ever
submitted to net.women. Here's some of my nominations, culled (not necessarily
verbatim) from recent submissions:
1. Ms. (the title) is cold and impersonal.
2. Women who want to have careers are selfish.
3. Shaving your (you=woman) legs is necessary for career success.
(therefore, women who shave their legs are selfish??????)
4. ad nauseum...

P.S. Oh, so the 59 cents is for the "same work", eh? What an economic genius
must have been on the team who came up with that figure, who could tell
what was the same work in millions of jobs across tens of thousands of
job categories! Maybe this person ought to run for president.
I suspect the 59 cent figure has much more political than scientific
value. (Anyone nominating this statement for the contest will be
electrocuted in effigy in my workshop.)
