[net.women] On caring for long hair

I have long hair - over shoulder length. I don't style it, I simply
keep it tied back in a pony-tail. It is a fairly brilliant red.

I have asked other people how often they have to wash their hair, and
am usually told a number between 2 and 7 times a week. I must be pretty
different, because I wash my hair less than once every two months -
you wouldn't believe how long a bottle of shampoo lasts me. It is not
that I neglect it and it gets skuzzy - it is just that it doesn't
get oily the way everyone else's seems to.
I do brush it every day, which I think helps a lot. The biggest hassle
with long hair is finding it in everything. I like to wear black a
lot, and when I shed the hairs show up like search-lights. They are
a pain to get out of sweaters, too.

Now for the surprise - I am a man. I like long hair on both sexes if
it is well cared for. On women my main reason, I suppose, is that if
I am intimate with her, I like to play with it while doing intimate
things. I suppose I would define "long" as 5 inches or so in length -
I don't insist on ass-length and in fact think that is overkill.
Hair shorter than about 2 inches is much less attractive to me. For
the last year or so, I have been in the interesting position of having
hair longer than every woman I know.
This doesn't bother me, though I think it bothers some of them...
I would be interested in hearing from my female co-workers on that...
