The following letter to the editor appeared in Frequent Flyer*, October 1983. I don't think I need to summarize the article that prompted it. "Protection and Self-Protection from Hotel Crimes" (July 1983) was obviously written by a supraparanoid individual. It made the "Twilight Zone" look like pablum. Alfred Hitchcock, eat your heart out. Everything the author advised against, I have done purposely on my travels. Nothing has happened to me. I have left the door to my L.A. hotel room wide open. I have left hotel doors unlocked while I slept. I have left items out in the open. Nothing was amiss. Securely locked doors denote that there are items of value inside. If I am in danger, precious time is saved by not having to fumble for a room key. I am 5'4" and a female. Enjoy life. There are so many helpful people in the world, but we rarely hear of their good deeds. H. A. My father gets it in connection with his work. As far as I know it is only available in combination with the OAG Pocket Flight Guide.
