[net.women] tekecs.3311: Reflections on the famous old English rape

jtb@phs.UUCP (12/09/83)

In refrence to putting a pen in a moving inkwell as a non valid analogy to rape
there is a story about a centurion in the Roman Leigon which is the logical
answer. It seems a woman was raped by a Roman leigonare and complained to his
centurion. The Centurion said that she coulden't have been resisting and by
way of example chalanged her to stick a sword in a scabbard while he held
th scabbard and moved it around. She cut off his hand picked up the scabbard
and inserted the sword. I wish I could remember where I saw that story
does it sound familar to anybody else?
