-- My question is why people insist on using a word that angers the ones -- being described with it? -- -- Cindy McMeekin Should I infer that the word "girl" angers the ones being described by it? I guess that means that either all females are angered by the word girl or all females called girl are angered by the word. I know more than one woman who like being called girl. It's even a compliment to some -- sort of a comment on their youthfulness. Many *mature* women don't really seem to give a damn. They know whether they're mature or not. If someone can point out how to differentiate between those who are angered by "girl" and those who aren't I'm sure we'll all start using it only when appropriate. -- Jeff Offutt School of ICS, Georgia Tech, Atlanta GA CSNet: Ofut @ GATech ARPA: Ofut.GATech @ Csnet-Relay uucp: ...!{akgua,allegra,rlgvax,sb1,unmvax,ulysses,ut-sally}!gatech!ofut
