[net.women] men reading net.women.only and my

jeffw@tekecs.UUCP (Jeff Winslow) (01/16/84)

I've seen a few articles now by men apologizing (?) for reading net.women.only.
It's worth remembering that, at least at the time it was created, it wasn't
said that men shouldn't READ it. Just that they not contribute. (I read
it regularly.) In retrospect, considering the forbearance the average netter
displays, maybe we shouldn't read it either, but then there's the minor
matter of practicality...

Perhaps Mr. Turner would be so good as to point out just what I said
which aroused such anger? I merely pointed out that I was amazed at a certain
statement (surely he couldn't disagree with that!) and that I wished
evidence presented on that statement. So far, neither he or the author of
that statement have presented ANY EVIDENCE WHATSOEVER. Not that I don't think
there is any, but that evidence will have to show that "control of who a
woman copulates with *IS* and has been a *very important* part of *MOST*
cultures (emphasis mine)". Three things to support. Let's get cracking, folks.
