utcsrgv!peterr (Peter Rowley) and others have suggested from time to time that net.women be renamed, and one name that recurs in this context is net.people. However, net.people has also been suggested as the name for a proposed group for personal announcements, i.e., changes of net address, leaving the net, and so on. I think that since net.women deals primarily with relationships and attitudes of men and women about each other, a better name change would be to net.sexes. I would not support any other proposed change. In view of our (unfortunately) existing male-oriented society, the existing name does in fact convey something of this idea anyway, so the change is mainly of desexistifying importance (to coin a word). I like the second net.people idea; there are people whose netstuff I enjoy reading, and I would like to keep track of them. I suppose that if the name is really wanted for other purposes, net.netters would do instead. Mark Brader
