(to the eater of first lines) A number of people have objected to the idea of guide lines for a discussion of differences between the sexes. Aside from the most obvious differences, I see a great deal of room for argument, flaming, and general obnoxiousness. I don't see much that can be gained from determining who has more time to type their own personal prejudices on this subject. This topic is hotter than abortion, sort of like Schockly going around saying American blacks are dumber than American whites, and thats why blacks are at the bottom the totem pole. For this very reason the differences in the sexes is a fascinating topic, and there is a lot I would like to learn. For example, are women really less aggressive than men? Do women have to learn aggression and men don't? Are men more variable in intelligence? Does the "Christian Bible" have it backwards, and is man just a mutated woman? I don't expect definitive answers on these questions, but I am interested in what the best current theories and data on these questions are. Further, there is interesting research going on in this area. The problem is one of sorting the wheat from the chaff. Just some final comments. It should be obvious that I intended the guide lines to be self enforcing. Larry Welsch houxu!welsch
