[net.women] Women drs.

In a net.women.only submission, Shelley Heretyk stated:

	I also prefer doctors and dentists who are women;
	women should patronize other women.

This is indeed a patronizing attitude. "Should" is a loaded term,
first of all, and even if I assume Shelley was only making a
recommendation, I disagree. I suggest that it makes more sense to
patronize professionals who are best qualified to give you the
service you want, at the price you are willing to pay. In general,
the quality of such service will be independent of the
professional's sex, true? Going to a woman doctor simply because
she's female strikes me as being as irrational as going to a male
doctor for the corresponding reason.

No flames intended, but they'll be cheerfully accepted.
