[net.women] static cling

chabot@amber.DEC (Lisa Chabot) (03/22/84)

Sigh.

Static cling can be a real problem, just like the static you can pick up
from the carpet. It's static electricity, and not only can you use it to
carry stray bits of paper and hair on your clothing, keep your pants
cuffs several inches above your shoes, and hold your skirt up at your hips
so that you embarass yourself when you take off your coat, if you're good
you can use it to zap a variety of computer peripherals, like cheap vdts.

However, it seems a weird topic for discussion in either net.women or
net.women.only.
