Two points before I start: 1) I thought about putting this in net.women.only, but there are probably men out there with something to say. I encourage them to say it. 2) For anyone who knows me, I'm not thinking of the immediate future but considering this point. (i.e. I'm not even married yet.) I've been on oral contraceptives (The Pill) for a long while. Eventually, I would like to have children. I have read (in the booklets enclosed with the pills) that I need to wait at least three months after going off the Pill before trying to conceive. I have anecdotal information that it may take a long time to get pregnant especially if I've been on the Pill for a long time (and have never been pregnant). Does anyone have any more anecdotal info? Does anyone know of any experimental studies in this area? If you had become used to using the Pill for contraception, how did using a different form of contraception affect your sexual relationship with your spouse? (I assume that you were trying to conceive with your spouse. :-) ) Please send reasonable replies (not flames) by mail. If I get enough responses in a couple of weeks, I'll post a summary to the net. -- Beth Katz, Univ. of Maryland, College Park, Computer Science Dept.
