Skip this if you're tired of reading about static cling...

First of all, I may have over-reacted. Phil Ngai said it much better than
I did. Net.women.only was apparently created so that women could discuss
topics of interest to them without interference. I wasn't around during its
creation, so I didn't know that men were "allowed" read-access to the group.
Therefore, there shouldn't be any flames about what is posted there, but then
again, this is reality.

Secondly, while Static Guard may be found in the laundry section, it is
generally not used while doing laundry. It is used to keep clothes hanging
loosely, instead of molded to your body. For this reason it is used more
frequently, although not exclusively, by women.

The whole issue then is whether we women have the right to use net.women.only
for what it was created for. While Judy McMullan is right about the lack of
immediacy in the mailing list, the atmosphere of non-hostility is bound to
attract those (men and women) who are tired of this debate.
