[net.women] Private Mailing Lists

The article to which this is a followup condemns the mailing list
as seperatist. Wrong. I'm on the mailing list and in case you can't
surmise this from my name, I'm not female. The list provides a place for
open discussion and only mild and rational flaming and is not a "cop-out"
or separation of any kind. In fact, the people who are on it really think
it is valuable. Before condemning it, find out about it first.

So now the mailing lists are there and women can `safely' contribute to
them without having to worry about being bothered by that minority of
un-understanding, stupid, un-sympathetic, nasty, insensitive, crude men.
I don't see anything open about private mailing lists and I don't want to
be on one. In fact they are so closed that I can't see *any* part of them.
Excuse me if I can't be very sympathetic about it. It would be different if
one was in physical danger but I don't believe that is the case here. If
you are confident about what you believe and if you are not afraid of
criticisms, why are you running away? If the answer is that a bunch of
jerks! with destructive comments make it unpleasant for you, then welcome
to earth! I am sure what you are doing is exactly what they want. All we
need is seperation of the sexes, even on the net.
