[net.women] fishing for bicycles in closets

chabot@amber.DEC (Lisa Chabot) (06/13/84)

The reeeal truth is:

"A woman without a bicycle is like a fish without a man."

There, I've said it. No longer need I burden my friends, or unload my tale
of woe on strangers or bartenders: I'm going to tell all of you. See, life
just hasn't been the same since my Centurion was stolen...I found a lovely
CItoh, but, you know, it wasn't like the first time, and when it was stolen
I couldn't face getting involved with anyten new...until the end of the
summer when I resigned myself that in the big city I needed protection (and
excitement!) and I settled down with my Azuki--it's not as thrilling as
perhaps I thought my first was, but it's steady and reliable, and maybe
the remembered old thrill is mostly painful memories of the first time I wiped
out and left skin all over Avenue L.

Somebody else can figure out what this could imply about fish and men.

No way I'm going to post the truth about fish and men on the net. That
stuff is from our secret rites of "fishing trips."

Well....maybe if we get a net.men.only
