[net.women] Women's Restrooms

wmartin@brl-tgr.ARPA (Will Martin ) (07/21/84)

I cannot recall which of the groups had the various comments about the
different needs of women and men regarding public restrooms, so I'm
trying the three most likely choices. Anybody who participated in this
discussion, or has any interest in the subject, hie yourselves over
to your nearest main public or university engineering library, and look
at the June 1984 issue of DOMESTIC ENGINEERING. (This is a magazine
directed at architects, designers, and contractors.) The cover story
is "The Public Powder Room", and it directly addresses the issues
that were discussed here on the net, plus cites actual studies and
research on the subject. I just happened to notice the cover while
scanning the magazines in the Applied Science section of the St. Louis
Public Library, and was amazed that such an apt coincidence of
coverage on what seems to me to be a rather esoteric subject came to
my attention. So now you all have the benefit of this fortuitous
encounter. Lucky you.
