[net.women] ELOQUENCE

rlr@pyuxn.UUCP (Rich Rosen) (07/24/84)

> I received the following response to my comments about gay teachers. I was
> impressed by this eloquent statement for gay rights by Mr. Richard Brower.
> [TED BECKER]

Well, given the tenor of his original generalizing stereotyping remarks ...

> Many gays have varying degrees of hatred towards the opposite sex.
> I have an appalling thought for you. Have you considered the fact that
> your homosexuality has its roots in a subconscious desire to be a member
> of the opposite sex?

... I would say that Mr. Becker got more eloquence back than he offered in
the first place. (Do you often read private correspondences in public?)

AT THE TONE PLEASE LEAVE YOUR NAME AND NET ADDRESS. THANK YOU.

I wish to make public the fact that the private mail I returned in
response to an article was in no way offered to the public. I seriously
object to any private mail being posted to any newsgroup without the
senders permission. Certainly, the way I respond to bigots in private
has no bearing on what I wish to say publically. I certainly hope that
others will realize that none of the statements made were directed at
anybody other than the the person to whom they were directed, and the net
as a whole should have been spared.

It only proves one thing. You just cannot trust a bigot!

Frankly, Richard, there's little need to apologize for your posting
to teldata!ted.

Publically sending a private mail message over the net without the
originator's consent, especially when keeping the mail path and signature
intact, is simply reprehensible.

teldata!ted obviously thought this would be a source of embarassment
to you. Rather, this and his previous comments simply reflect all the
more poorly on him.

My reason for posting Mister Browers response was to protest his vile and
irrational response to my posting, which I admit was not well stated but to
my was not so bigoted to deserve such a response.

If Mr. Brower will read my subsequent posting and the latest mail I sent to
him he will find my views are not so bigoted and may even be acceptable
to him.
