A friend who recently moved to AT&T-IS in Florida was shocked to learn just how biased the males were against women down there. and the women down constantly tell her not to complain, lest she be 'labelled' as a 'libber', which results in poor salary increases forever. -- * o Neal Fildes, AT&T Bell Laboratories Whippany, NJ, U.S.A. * (whuxlf!nrf) <201-386-6493> * * * *

AT&T-Bell Laboratories does have an active Affirmative Action program which makes it unlike the "real" world. But it's not "excellent". Just look at the number of women and minorities in the Cabinet( 1 woman, ? minorities of approx. 30 people). I don't have statistics, but the women/minority representation in mid/upper management is not impressive either. But compared to stories I hear from other companies(from both management and non-management), AT&T-Bell Labs is a better place to work. Sue Engels AT&T-Bell Labs Naperville
