References: If I knew the answers to the following questions, perhaps I could understand why there is (or isn't) any possible controversy about whether Penthouse has viable releases from Vanessa Williams. Can anyone help? I'm very puzzled... Would someone please explain how one determines whether a model has given a release for a photograph? How are releases worded, and how are the photographs identified, to ensure that a given release and a given photograph are related? If I signed a release, and photographs of me were subsequently published, couldn't there be a "gray area" of controversy concerning whether the photograph published was one that I released? If a model has given a release, what is the status of photographs taken without the model's knowledge during the session, or at slightly different times, that the photographer claims are covered by the release? Is there any procedures for specifying that specific pictures are covered by a release? If so, how are they identified? From the negative (which may be too small for the model to know what the picture precisely shows) or from a print (which may have been edited so as to conceal what the negative actually shows)? - Toby Robison (not Robinson!) allegra!eosp1!robison decvax!ittvax!eosp1!robison
