[net.women] Women vs men

labelle@hplabsc.UUCP (WB6YZZ La Belle) (08/31/84)

8/30/84 - Vitas Gerulaitis says "I would (bet) my house right now
that a no.100 ranked man could beat Martina Navrtilova."

                                         agreed

Martina says if the men were given only one serve, she
  could beat them.

Chris Evert (still a woman) says she thought Navratilova
would lose to "the top 1000 men" ; even men over 40! "My brother (John
Evert) beats me and he isn't even ranked."

                 Go Chrissy!

                                 GEORGE

Comments like this one out of the blue really make me wonder about the
motivations of some posters to net.women. This is clearly a trap to
get the "raving feminists" to rave. I guess some men really have to
prove by any means that they are somehow superior. Ok, GEORGE, men are
superior to women when it comes to tennis, which I guess will magically
make YOU superior since you are a man, even though most probably Martina
could cream YOU any time.

Ok, that one is settled (I actually thought that it had been settled quite
a while ago by Billie Jean King but let's ignore that). So, now, do you
have anything of interest to CONTRIBUTE to this mailgroup?
