All I can say is: Three cheers for critics like
Siskel and Ebert that don't judge movies by simplistic
criteria. Most classic stories/films/books etc., including
the Bible include slavery, rape, violence, etc.

To call Tightrope, with its strong female lead and
only slightly gratuitus direction an anti-female film
seems to me ludicrous. If anything, it is one of the
few films made recently that trys to deal honestly with
the "tightrope" we all walk in our relationships with
the opposite sex.

Of course, all knowledge/labels reveal something, if
only about the person who assigns them. If some group
starts rating films this way, bully for them. I'd just
like to point out that right now Tightrope is in the
process of becoming a box office "item."
