What has this got to do with anything? I've just cited examples (that
are thus far unrefuted) that show that the government SHOULD be involved
in the Santa Claus business. That's part of the business of government:
to take care of our own!! But even so, you say that the poor are
classed as such because of overtaxation. SO WHAT!!!!!! Regardless of
the cause, the problem still remains. Berating the cause does not
illegitimize the resluting problem! You have not addressed the issue of
whether or not there is a need for aid in certain (or all) abortion
situations. Nor have you said anything to support the claim that
abortions should be treated as luxuries.

>I'm told that abortions are available
>for $150 (US). Sounds a tad low given general health-care costs,
>but I have no reason to doubt the person who told me this
>actually knew of a respectable (read: safe) establishment
>offering abortions at this price.

So there cheap in relation to most other health care costs. SO WHAT!!!
The cheaper, the better! Are you trying to argue that because they are
so cheap we need not supply aid? Can a destitute family afford $150?
Can a frightened middle class teenager afford $150? Can *I* afford $150
(yes, I could, but it would set me back HEAVILY). The point being that
abortions (esp. those obtained at clinics that you would deem "safe")
cost more than some people can pay. Can you justify the dispensation of
abortions based on wealth and not need? I'd like to see you try!

>Providing abortions for people who get careless is not
>the proper role of government.

Lori Fuller already replied to this one amply. I need not add a word.
