I suggest that people also read Gordon A. Moffett's posting pointing out that
the First Amendment refers to the actions of Congress.

And why was Sunny's name left out here?!  "Refrain from naming the original
respondee"?  Was Sunny's behavior felt to be so objectionable that in the
interests of politeness or whatever, you gotta leave off the author's name?
Weird.  I didn't think so.  And anyway, I usually take the opposite attitude--
if somebody writes something which I consider to be trash, then by all means
attach the author's name when quoting: it saves others from confusion if they
later quote the article containing quotes from another article (&tc.).
