I hate to add to this discussion in a way that will make the NET go up in arms and flame (or smoulder), but personally, I actually agree with the graffitti "Murder all Rapists" I feel the same way about murderers, robbers and any other section of humanity that believes they have the GOD given right to "TAKE" anything from another human being. I agree with Lauri, I have taken martial arts and if ever I am in a position where I must defend myself, I would use that and whatever other means at my disposal to STOP the other person. I Lauri's comments seem similar to the graffitti that was quoted, maybe it's because there are those of us who feel as she does, AND as the graffitti suggests. SHE DID NOT SAY SHE WAS ONE OF THOSE!!! However, I WILL say that I am. FLame all you want, this is an opinion based on experience's with rape, robbery, incest and physical violence (all happened either to me directly, or a dear loved one).

I must sympathize with anyone who feels that a rapist or, any other person who actually committed a violent crime, ought to receive the harshest possible punishment; furthermore, that in self-defense from such a monster, practically any means of force are justifiable. But by definition, MURDER is not justifiable. Perhaps what you meant was a fair trial, and, in the case of a guilty verdict, a death sentence. Without due course of law, we are certain to sink into vigilante-ism of the sort not seen since the rape of the west, or since the heyday of the Ku Klux Klan. Surely you are not eager to give up one of the few basic rights that distinguish this nation from so many brutal places on this planet? -michael
