I don't read net.social, but spotted your plaintive missive on net.women. Yes, of course, some of us out here are happy. My husband and I have been married for 15 years and, if anything, love one another more now than when we got married. And we manage to find more things to communicate about all the time. I'm not absolutely certain what we're doing right. It definitely helps that we knew one another a friends for two years before we fell in love, so we had a good idea of one another's strengths and weaknesses ahead of time, undimmed by romantic fog. And that we're both willing to take responsibility for our own finances/actions. And come from similar enough backgrounds that we share a lot of unconscious assumptions, rather than having to bring them out into the open and argue them. --Lee Gold
