When it comes to birth control (back in the dark ages when I was dating) I always took care of it myself. However, I always asked the man if he had considered the necessary precautions. Told me a hell of alot about the guy. If he said, "who, me?" I generally took it as a good clue not to stick around. Jerks is jerks, and even if he ain't a jerk, he's stupid. If he said, "yeh, I've thought about it, and I was hoping you'd take care of it, cause I didn't" I got a different message to consider. If he said, "yep, all taken care of, let's go to the casbah," I was more inclined to think well of him. Course, I'm the kind of person who really prefers that the people in the front of the elevator exit first, rather than squashing themselves up against the side to let the people in the back of the elevator leave first, on account of some notion of courtesy.
